The Java compiler will optimize your application by removing code thatcan never be executed. If you include a class in your application suchas the following:
public class Debug{ public static final boolean DEBUG = true;}
You can insert sections of debug code in your classes inside an “if”block:
. . .if ( Debug.DEBUG ){ // debug code}
The code inside this block will be included in your class when theconstant DEBUG is true. When you change it to false and recompile yourclasses, the compiler will not only not allow the debug code to beexecuted, it will remove the code from your *.class files.You can use this feature to include different types of code also. Youcould have debug code, tracing code, assertion code, etc.
