The International Panel on Climate Change reports alarming erosion rates, with some regions losing over 12 feet of beach annually.

Insurance companies are responding to this reality by refusing coverage for properties threatened by erosion, causing homeowners to face additional financial burdens. David Moot highlights his situation, explaining he pays $4,000 annually for homeowners insurance—merely matching his property taxes—without coverage for erosion-related damages. On another front, Connecticut, known for its coastal communities, is beginning to feel the impact of climate change inland as well.
