EA FC 25 early access preview

Early Preview

EA Sports FC 25 offers football fans a familiar yet slightly refined experience. The game provides incremental improvements and adjustments that add to the fun but don’t revolutionize the gameplay. Career Mode finally gets a welcome refresh with more customization options.

You can now set board expectations leniently, sparing you the frustration of being sacked for not spending every penny of your transfer budget. Adding real weather effects like wind and rain adds a new level of realism. The integration of women’s leagues is long overdue and much appreciated.

You can seamlessly drift between the men’s and women’s leagues and teams within one career mode save. You can now start a save as one of FC’s many icons. Rush, a new 5v5 mode, introduces youth tournaments that let you test your wunderkinder in high-pressure scenarios.

This futsal-inspired mode features unique rules that introduce a fun dose of chaos to the gameplay. Rush mode is also available in Kick Off, Ultimate Team, and Clubs. Graphically, EA Sports FC is a mix of good and bad.

Premier League games have sharp new scoreboards and broadcast-style overlays. However, the user interface seems designed for a touchscreen and feels clunky with a controller. The new ‘Cranium’ system aims to improve players’ appearance without facial scans, but the results are inconsistent.

Many still fall into the uncanny valley. Expect some typical weirdness in FC 25. Commentary often disconnects from on-pitch action, cutscenes glitch out, and sometimes, the world briefly collapses into a pinky-purgatory void.

Overall, EA Sports FC 25 offers enough new features to please fans but doesn’t entirely revolutionize the experience. The refinements in Career Mode and the addition of Rush Mode are welcome, but the graphical and interface issues hold it back.
