Musk praises Ramaswamy’s impactful RNC speech

Impactful Speech

Elon Musk praised Vivek Ramaswamy for his impassioned speech at the Republican National Convention. Musk highlighted Ramaswamy’s ability to connect with the audience and address key issues facing the nation.

Ramaswamy, known for his stance on economic freedom and innovative policies, discussed topics including economic growth, national security, and technological advancement.

His speech resonated with many attendees, drawing attention from notable figures like Musk.

As the founder of several successful ventures, Ramaswamy emphasized the importance of fostering an environment that supports innovation and entrepreneurship while ensuring national interests are protected. His approach aligns with Musk’s vision of a future driven by technological progress and responsible governance.

The endorsement from Musk, a titan in the tech industry, added weight to Ramaswamy’s message, potentially influencing the broader political discourse heading into the next election cycle. Thousands of Republicans filled up the FinServ Forum on Tuesday night for the second day of the 2024 Republican National Convention. Former President Donald Trump is officially the nominee, with Ohio Sen.

J.D. Vance as his running mate. The convention began just two days after an attempted assassination of Trump at a campaign rally in Pennsylvania. Trump, whose right ear was grazed, attended the convention with a bandage on his ear to cheers and chants of “Fight! Fight! Fight!”

Senate candidates, House leadership, and former Trump primary opponents made up the roster of a night whose theme was “Make America safe again.”

Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez had a takedown of Vivek Ramaswamy’s speech at the Republican National Convention.

Ramaswamy’s speech included an invitation to young people, which drew criticism from Ocasio-Cortez. “Our message to Gen Z is this: You’re going to be the generation that actually saves this country,” Ramaswamy said at the RNC. “You want to be a rebel?

You want to be a hippie? You want to ‘stick it to the man’?

Show up on your college campus and try calling yourself a conservative. Say you want to get married, have kids, teach them to believe in God and pledge allegiance to their country.”

Ocasio-Cortez responded on X, saying, “If you want to be cool so badly, try giving a damn about other people beyond yourself. Might open a few doors.” She added, “Young people don’t take well to bigoted leaders who attack LGBTQ+ rights, outlaw abortion, cozy up to gun manufacturers + oil execs, and support a rapist for President.”

The New York congresswoman pointed out that Ramaswamy doesn’t have much credibility when it comes to what’s “cool.” She referenced his past attempts to establish himself as a libertarian rapper in college under the name “Da Vek.” His rap endeavors, including a cover of Eminem’s “Lose Yourself,” were met with a cease-and-desist order from Eminem himself, who opposes Donald Trump and supports progressive causes like Black Lives Matter.

Democratic lawmakers are calling on New Jersey Senator Bob Menendez to step down after his guilty verdict. Menendez was convicted Tuesday on all 16 counts in his federal corruption trial. “In light of this guilty verdict, Senator Menendez must now do what is right for his constituents, the Senate, and our country, and resign,” Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer said.

Representative Andy Kim, Menendez’s Democratic challenger, stated, “Our public servants should work for the people, and today we saw the people judge Senator Menendez as guilty and unfit to serve. I called on Senator Menendez to step down when these charges were first made public, and now that he has been found guilty, I believe the only course of action for him is to resign his seat immediately.”

Senators Cory Booker, Dick Durbin, and Amy Klobuchar, and Representative Katie Porter, all reiterated previous calls for Menendez to resign. New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy also issued a statement, saying, “If [Menendez] refuses to vacate his office, I call on the United States Senate to vote to expel him.”

Georgia’s Court of Appeals ruled Tuesday that it will hear oral arguments for Donald Trump’s appeal to disqualify Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis from his election interference case after the presidential election has already taken place.

The court scheduled the proceedings for December 5. As a result, the case likely will not resume until well into 2025, if at all. If Trump is reelected, the case against him would be postponed until his term ends in 2029, or possibly longer.

The Supreme Court has issued a ruling on Trump’s immunity, shielding any president from prosecution for “official acts” taken in office. One of Trump’s attorneys has already argued that Trump’s and his allies’ actions were considered “official acts.”

Republican vice presidential nominee J.D. Vance once defended conspiracy theorist Alex Jones during a 2021 event held by the Teneo Network, according to an obtained video. Vance spoke at a closed-door event hosted by the Teneo Network, backed by conservative billionaire Leonard Leo.

In the video, Vance explained his previous defense of Jones, who had claimed the Sandy Hook massacre was a hoax. Vance had recently sparked backlash after suggesting Jones was more reliable than MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow. At the event, Vance claimed he was “just trolling,” but he also insisted “that doesn’t mean what I said is in any way untrue.” He argued it’s important to “have a little fun” while making what he considered to be fundamental truths.
