New OnePlus Watch 2R offers affordability

Affordable Watch

The OnePlus Watch 2R has launched as a cheaper alternative to OnePlus’ latest smartwatch.

It is so similar to the Watch 2, it could easily be mistaken for the wearable set for release in early 2024. The Watch 2R features two side buttons for the app drawer and a custom button.

It is available in Forest Green and Gunmetal Gray colorways. It boasts a 1.43-inch OLED display and is 25% lighter than the Watch 2.

The watch runs on Google’s latest Wear OS 4.0. It is equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon W5 processor, 2GB RAM, and 32GB of onboard storage.

It also includes the BES 2700 MCU Efficiency chipset found in its predecessor. This dual-engine architecture optimizes performance and battery efficiency by handling lighter tasks. The GPS connectivity has been enhanced with dual-frequency connections for L5 and L1 GPS signals.

The OnePlus Watch 2R is powered by a 500mAh battery. It offers up to 100 hours of regular use and supports 7.5W VOOC Fast Charging for quick recharges via a USB-C magnetic charging puck. The watch is globally available.

Sales in Europe will commence on July 16, priced at €279 / £249 / $229.99.
