Spotify expands AI Playlist to new regions

AI Playlist

Spotify is expanding its AI Playlist feature to more users in the United States, Canada, Ireland, and New Zealand. The feature, previously available in beta to Premium subscribers in the United Kingdom and Australia, allows users to create personalized playlists using generative AI technology. To create an AI Playlist, users simply enter a unique prompt into the chat, such as “upbeat pop music for my European summer vacation” or “a romantic playlist for date night at home.”  Spotify then generates a personalized selection of songs that match the desired vibe.

Users can further refine the playlist by typing in additional prompts or deleting tracks they don’t like. The AI Playlist feature is designed to foster discovery and help users curate the perfect musical mix. Since its launch in the UK and Australia, users have created millions of playlists using the feature, with many returning to them regularly.

Expanding AI playlist regions

To access the AI Playlist, users must open the Spotify mobile app and select “Your Library” at the bottom-right corner of the screen. From there, they can tap the “+” button at the top-right corner and select “AI Playlist.” Users can then choose from suggested prompts or type their own.

While the feature is still in beta and may not produce results for non-music-related prompts, Spotify is excited to bring AI Playlist to more users and enable them to express themselves creatively through music. The company plans to continue iterating and innovating on the experience to serve listeners better. Expanding AI Playlist to new markets is part of Spotify’s broader strategy to maintain its competitive edge in the music streaming industry.

By investing in technology and innovation, the company aims to offer unique features that enhance user engagement and satisfaction.
