During the rally, a gunman identified as Thomas Matthew Crooks shot Trump in the upper part of his right ear, resulting in the death of one attendee and injuries to two others. The FBI confirmed that Crooks was shot dead by authorities at the scene. Musk expressed his public support for Trump following the incident, fully endorsing him and hoping for his rapid recovery.

Bill Ackman, CEO of Pershing Square Capital Management, also endorsed Trump in a post on X, adding to the wave of support from influential figures. The assassination attempt and Trump’s announcement have added layers of drama and urgency to the 2024 presidential race. Sen. As the campaign unfolds, the prospect of a vice presidential debate between Vance and current Vice President Kamala Harris has been proposed by CBS News. Harris reached out to Vance to congratulate him on his selection and express her hope that they can meet in a debate.

Insiders suggest that Vance’s debating skills could pose a significant challenge to Harris, who has faced criticism for her speaking style. Ashley Etienne, Harris’ former communications director, described Vance as “super smart” and “quick-witted,” characteristics that could be problematic for the Vice President. The potential debate could prove pivotal in swaying undecided voters, and communication skills will be crucial in the high-stakes setting.

Vance’s wife, Usha Vance, has also garnered attention. Usha, an accomplished lawyer and Yale graduate, has been a steadfast supporter of her husband throughout his political career.

Usha Vance, raised in San Diego to Indian immigrants, holds degrees from Yale University and the University of Cambridge. She most recently worked as a litigator at the law firm Munger, Tolles & Olson but resigned from her position following her husband’s selection as Trump’s running mate. J.D. Vance has publicly praised his wife, calling her “brilliant” and “way more accomplished than I am.” Despite her impressive credentials and career, Usha remains focused on her family and supporting her husband’s ambitions.

As the 2024 presidential race continues, the Trump-Vance ticket is expected to face off against the incumbent Biden administration. The potential vice presidential debate between Vance and Harris, along with the support from influential figures like Elon Musk, will likely shape the dynamics of the campaign in the coming months.
