Xfinity outage leaves thousands in Utah disconnected

Outage Disconnected

A widespread internet outage hit thousands of Xfinity customers across Utah on Sunday afternoon and evening. The outage affected many residents in Park City, where Comcast/Xfinity is a major internet service provider. Reports of outages began around 3:30 p.m. and peaked at approximately 4:40 p.m. The issue gradually declined throughout the evening, but some reports of continued outages persisted into Monday afternoon.

The cause of the outage remains unclear. The Xfinity website indicated, “Our network has sustained damage that makes us unable to deliver your services,” but offered no specific details. Bill Ciraco, a Park City resident, expressed his frustration on social media.

“@comcast @Xfinity @XfinitySupport sucks for me that we have had a citywide Xfinity outage here in Park City today,” Ciraco posted on X (formerly Twitter). He noted that the outage lasted at least 10 hours without apparent causes like construction, natural disasters, or weather issues.

Xfinity internet struggles in Utah

Many customers voiced their dissatisfaction on social media platforms like Reddit. One user, Justtrying1974, posted on the Salt Lake City subreddit, “I’ve lost my internet for the last five hours. Comcast’s website (accessed by my phone) started advertising a new service to give me four hours of outage protection for $8 a month.

I’m angry!”

The outage was not isolated to Utah, as outages were also reported in different parts of the country. Reports indicate that the Salt Lake area is one of several significant hotspots for nationwide outages. The incident prompted discussion among residents about alternative internet service options.

Xfinity has yet to provide a comprehensive explanation for the outage. To stay informed, follow local news channels and sign up for breaking news notifications.
